I-9s for Remote Workers

I'm wondering how some of you complete I-9s for remote workers? I'm referring to workers who are fully remote and never come into the office. We have a client with employees in multiple states who work from their homes and I'm looking for recommendations for them to complete the employer portion of the I-9 since the original documents need to be seen. Thank you!

    Hi Rachel!

There are several vendors who offer products to address this need.  I'm most familiar with LawLogix, but other vendors' products are similar.  Included in their offerings if you sign on for their product is their "PAN" service.  This is a network of trained individuals across the U.S. who complete section 2 for a fee.  This helps to reduce errors.  Hires schedule an appointment on line.  If they don't show there is a reduced fee.

Another option is for the company to allow whomever they choose to act as their representative to complete Section 2.  However, the company still retains all accountability for any errors.
