Seeking a dynamic Human Resources Manager @ Libbey!

The Human Resources Manager is responsible for providing HR leadership for Libbey’s corporate functions, including finance & accounting, information technology, legal, corporate HR, and digital. This group of approximately 140 associates is based at Libbey’s headquarters in Toledo, Ohio and our satellite office in Columbus, OH.

The successful candidate must possess a solid understanding and knowledge of all functional human resource areas, as well as state and federal laws and regulations. We are seeking a dynamic and collaborative business partner who believes in empowering their clients, someone who is action oriented and has a high level of professional integrity.
Core responsibilities include:

        Talent Acquisition

  • Partner with Talent Acquisition team and business partners to identify talent needs and develop recruiting and staffing strategies to support those needs
  • Provide active, direct involvement in interviewing and selection for all positions
  • Oversee the new hire on-boarding processes

Talent and Organization Capability Development

  • Partner with Manager, Organization and Leader Development  on the annual talent review and succession planning processes
  • Champion the individual development process for assigned business client functions
  • Ensure that all associates have defined goals and metrics in Libbey’s talent management system, and champion the performance management process
  • Assess training and development needs; identify comprehensive and low cost development solutions
  • Develop and deliver training programs; source and partner with external  training providers to deliver optimal results
  • Active involvement in managing the annual merit and incentive processes
  • Conduct associate exit interviews and communicate/apply learnings

Culture Transformation

  • Coach associates in, and drive, the behaviors expected to support Libbey’s strategy
  • Support annual engagement survey process and related action planning development/tracking
  • Create and support occasional HR communications
  • Partner with management to proactively prevent and actively manage associate relations issues, including fair and consistent application of policies and disciplinary action
  • Provide consultation and guidance for managers and associates on company policies and processes
  • Ensure proper management and communication of safety and workers compensation related matters

HR Cost Management, Processes and Metrics

  • Provide leadership, coaching and development to HR Coordinator to ensure high level of performance and growth
  • Ensure consistent and accurate client group information is updated within the talent management system and HRIS
  •  Manage/maintain associate records for assigned client functions
  • Provide routine reporting on key HR metrics
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with all legal and procedural requirements, including affirmative action; conduct routine compliance audits and implement corrective actions
  • Actively look for and implement actions to reduce HR costs and improve efficiency
  • Respond to requests for information by various entities (e.g., EEOC, OCR)
  • Support HR department effectiveness by establishing standardized, documented, sustainable processes for routine transactions and leveraging manager/associate self-service opportunities
  • Work collaboratively across the region with HR colleagues to establish and maintain standardized HR processes to optimize HR effectiveness
  • Ensure seamless collaboration with shared services in areas such as payroll and benefits

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5-7 years of human resources experience
  • Bachelor's degree, Business Administration or Human Resources preferred
  • PHR or SPHR certification preferred
  • Solid understanding and knowledge of functional human resource areas: talent management, organization development, policy administration, benefits, training and associate relations
  • Proven organizational leadership capabilities, with expertise in change management
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills; able to confidently and effectively work with all levels of the organization
  • Knowledge of state and federal employment regulations, and record keeping requirements
  • Able to effectively interpret and advise on EEO/AA regulations, including the development of adverse impact analysis
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through
  • Strong decision making skills, sound judgement and rationale
  • Ability to multi-task, remain highly organized and thrive in a deadline-driven environment
