PTO Bank vs. Separate Leave Banks

Any insight into benefits and drawbacks for a general paid time off bank verses having leave broken into parts?  Any insight into transitioning from separate banks to one PTO bank would be helpful too.

Also, we are not governed by mandatory sick leave laws (yet) but is something we have to watch, and we are in the public sector.

Thanks for any ideas or feedback on your own experiences!

I would also be interested in the feedback... our employees want a PTO bank but I feel like what I am reading is that a lot of companies are going back to separate leave banks because of potential mandates.

  • We switched to a PTO bank a few years ago and it has worked really well. Plus, many of our clients are either using PTO or shifting to it to give employees more ownership with their time off. If you'd like to talk through your situation and pick my brain, I'm happy to share anything I know that may help. Just drop me an email at Robin@strategicHRinc.com and we can schedule a call.
