HR Presentation for Board of Directors
Hello all! This is my first post on the discussion board. Woo hoo! 😄
I'm on the executive team at my company and next month I'll be presenting to the board of directors on our company's HR function (who we are, what we do, future plans, etc.).
I was curious if anyone has done a similar presentation and if so, did you do anything fun or unusual to make it interesting? Thank you in advance for any ideas you are willing to share!
Thank you,
Janice

Hi Janice !!
I would do something very different. Buy everyone on the BOD a kaleidoscope. Before you start your presentation, give everyone a kaleidoscope to keep. Ask them to look through them and see if they remember playing with them.
Once they've done that, open your presentation with "Ladies and Gentleman, I'd like to talk to you about our HR function and I want you to look at things differently. I gave you the kaleidoscopes to remind you that our people are unique, colorful and deserve our focus." Then you can go from there.
You can get kaleidoscopes on Amazon here - https://amzn.to/2uhjO88
I've done this in meetings before and it works !! Hope that helps. - Steve

Yes! I did a presentation about the HRBP model and how it is different from a transactional HR model. The kaleidoscope activity that Steve suggested would be a perfect intro to this presentation. If this might be helpful, send me an email at bmartin@harmoninc.com and I will send it to you!
