Harassment Training - Certified Trainer?
As a new HR professional, I am looking for insight from from seasoned HR professionals on this topic.
We are a small (32 employees) company based in Louisiana, but have remote staff in several states including 1 employee in California & 1 in New York. We would like to have all staff participate in Harassment Training - something we have never offered to employees. As we have grown from a 5-person operation to our current 32-person staff, and continuing to grow, we feel this is a very important topic with the diversity we current have with staff. With employees in multiple states, and a growing staff, on-site training is not an option for us.
I have looked at the "Harassment: Sex, Religion, and Beyond — Employee/California Manager Combination Package" offered currently in the SHRM Store and think it would be a good program for us, but it says "This program can be used as a component of a 2-hour class led by a qualified trainer to meet the standards of California AB 1825, AB 2053, and SB 396. The Trainer's Manual, purchased separately, helps facilitators lead a 2-hour training in compliance with these requirements."
My questions are this:
1. Do we require this particular training with the CA component if we have 1 employee there but no Managers/Supervisors there? I am iffy on the laws regarding the position we are in with staffing.
2. How does one become a "qualified trainer" to facilitate this training if that is required?
We do not have unlimited financial resources available and would like to be as fiscally responsible as we can, while providing compliant and beneficial information to our staff.
Google is a minefield and I am a tad overwhelmed at this point. Any insight would be very helpful.

Julie - we have a partner that provides an eLearning Harassment program that includes an employee version and a supervisor version. The supervisor version covers requirements for California based employees. The total cost for 32 employees would be about $1250. I'm happy to talk through the specifics with you if you'd like.
