Recommendations on an HRIS System

(This question came from HR Netter Mary Dale)

HR professionals- my team is in the market for a new HRIS system and is looking for a system that has the following capabilities:

  • Performance Management - review system tied to compensation
  • Benefits Administration with carrier feeds
  • Payroll with payroll based journaling capabilities
  • Electronic expense reporting
  • New Hire onboarding/electronic forms
  • FMLA/leave management tracking
  • Total rewards/compensation management
  • Scheduling and time keeping

What systems have you used or have you implemented? What did you like or dislike? How was your support during the implementation process? Any systems you would not recommend and why?

Thanks for all of your insight - Mary

  • Hi Mary,

My first question would be does your payroll need to integrate into the general ledger and an operating system generating financial reports?

  • Mary,

Paycor is a great system that can meet your needs listed.  I worked with them in the last 2 companies I've been at and they have been great and very supportive.

  • We use Workday for the items you mention.  I find it to be a nice system, user friendly.
