Revamp employee tenure award program
Hello everyone!
I'm thrilled to join this esteemed community of HR professionals from around the globe! Thank you Steve for adding me, My name is Dimitrios from Cyprus, and I'm excited to connect with and learn from each of you.
As a newcomer to this platform, I must admit, it's my first time posting, so please bear with me! I'm reaching out because I have a burning question and I believe this diverse community would be the perfect place to seek guidance.
Background: I recently joined a company as an HR Manager, and one of my first initiatives is to revamp our employee tenure award program. We want to ensure that our recognition efforts truly reflect our appreciation for our dedicated employees' commitment and hard work over the years.
The Question: I'm on the lookout for creative and value-adding ideas for employee tenure award gifts. I believe that the collective wisdom of this global network can provide a wealth of innovative suggestions that could truly make a difference in our program.
What I'm Seeking:
Unique gift ideas that go beyond traditional offerings.
Thank you in advance for your time and contributions. I look forward to engaging with this wonderful community and exchanging ideas that will elevate our employee recognition efforts to new heights!
Kind regards,
Dimitrios

Hi Dimitrios! Welcome to the group! Ahhh, the recognition award question! This has been challenging for me in the past, but I had the best results when I use a personal, yet culture-driven approach. For example, for more tenured employees, depending on the size of the company, the manager should know some personal details about the employee that can bring ideas for a great tenure award gift. The gifts can be different, but the value is the same for all employees. My employee was with the company for 10 years and she loves the beach and we gave her a gift of a weekend getaway. There is also the option of putting funds into their lifestyle spending account, which is a newer trend going around and also depends on your benefits too. I have more examples, but it may take a lot more space. :-) I am open to connecting if you would like to talk more.
