Payroll Change to Two Times Per Month

We are currently on a biweekly pay cycle and exploring the option of moving to a two time per month pay cycle. Looking at having pay dates being on the 15th and last working day of the month. I would like to talk with someone who is on this pay cycle to ask some questions about the mechanics of it. My email is ageist@bricker.com.

I have experience with paying salaried employees on the 15th and last day of the month at organizations before I started my own business.  I have not seen this type of pay time frame for hourly employees.  I would be glad to answer any questions you may have.

  • We are on that payroll cycle now for everyone, including hourly employees.  I much prefer the every two (2) week payroll even though you end up paying a "week in the hole".  We have to project hours worked since payroll is processed 3-4 business days prior to the pay date assuming people will show up to work.  Overtime for the end of the period gets paid on the following check and it can get confusing to some employees.
