Reasonable Suspicion - employee transportation

Hi all,

If you have to transport an employee off site for reasonable suspicion testing, what is your standard process? Do you require managers to drive the employee in the manager's car? Do you use Lyft or Uber, and if so, do you require someone to accompany the employee?

Asking for best practices and standards. Thanks!

I don't know that it's best practice, but at a past employer, the employee's manager, and another supervisor/manager who is the same sex as the ee going for reasonable suspicion testing, have accompanied the employee in the manager's work vehicle.

I'd check with your WC insurer. If you put an employee in someone else's car or an uber/lyft/cab I believe are you accepting additional risk. I was advised to call 911 in this scenario.

We have an account set up with a local cab service for these situations. I believe that you can also set up a corporate Uber account as well.
