Recruiting: Laws Restricting Interview Questions about Current Salary

Some states and municipalities have implemented laws to restrict how much you can ask an applicant about their current salary. See the attached article relating to this. I would be curious if anyone on the HRNet has been impacted by this, especially if you have locations in other states and municipalities.

  • Companies I am working with have definitely been impacted by this.  Most have decided to change policy/approach on this across the US and not just the limited locations where this is now legally prohibited.
