Exempt Employee Requirements for Jury Duty (Private Employer in Ohio)

I've been searching and finding conflicting information. Are there specific requirements when it comes to jury duty and exempt employees? Any help is appreciated!

    Hello Rhiana,

    This is a great question!  The SHRM website has an article written, March 10, 2022, (link posted below), that states in part:

     

         "An employer cannot make pay deductions for absences of an exempt employee due to jury     or witness duty or temporary military duty, unless the absence is for a full workweek."

     

    I would double check with an employment attorney though!
