What do you offer traveling employees for a meal per diem?

Hello!

Do you have a per diem policy at your company? If so, what is the set per diem amount you have for meals? Is it different based on the meal or the location of the travel?

I'm trying to set the parameters on a per diem system and any input you can share that works for you would really help.

Thanks - Karen

  • I would like to know as well. We have per diem and I can check what our number is.

  • Karen,

I may be able to help you out but what I have is a little dated. I've been involved with systems that pay a flat amount daily and those where you entered info based on departure/return time for meal eligibility and whether the area was considered "high cost". May be easiest to explain over phone or Teams call and I can be reached at philip.brunner@ilna.isza.com.

  • We offer expense reimbursement that mimics the per diem rates set by US GSA Per Diem Rates | GSA

We offer $15 for breakfast, $17 for lunch, $30 for dinners. But depending on where they are (e.g., California, New York City, etc.) they can spend more.
Also, we don't nickel an dime. If you spent $ 12 for lunch and $35 for dinner - it evens out.
