Parental Leave

We are looking at revising our Parental Leave policy. Right now, we offer 1 week of paid parental leave (this is separate from our PTO policy) and 1 week of unpaid leave. We also have a STD policy that would apply, and allow employees to use PTO to supplement their paid during STD to make their compensation whole. Given the average age of our workforce and the latest trends in offering more leave, I'm curious what other companies of similar size are doing? We have about 45 full-time employees.

  • Hi Allison,

We have several hundred employees but don't currently offer anything besides short-term disability, use of PTO, and an ability to request unpaid leave.  I agree that this is a growing trend.  I wouldn't be surprised if we offer it in the future.

Hi Allison! I have some (small) clients that offer unpaid parental leave for up to 6 weeks.
