Compensation Specialist - Cleveland Area

Job Summary:

Participates in the administration and communication of non-bargaining and bargaining  compensation plans for The MetroHealth System (MHS).   Conducts classification reviews and job audits.  Composes and revises position descriptions.   Participates in, conducts and/or responds to salary and wage surveys, market reviews, and pay compression studies.  Analyzes salary data and makes recommendations regarding salary placement. Reviews and makes salary recommendations for new hires, internal promotions, reclassifications, and other personnel actions.   Ensures consistency, internal equity, and external market competitiveness of requested actions/recommendations as well as compliance with compensation policies, guidelines, and procedures. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.

 

Qualifications:

Required:

Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related field.

Two years of experience in Human Resources.

Excellent written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, including designing and building spreadsheets.

Detail oriented. Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills with an ability to organize and summarize data, and make recommendations.

Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with department heads, managers, employees,  and members of the HR team.

Ability to manage multiple communications, projects, objectives, and deadlines.

Excellent customer service skills.

Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines consistently.

Preferred:

One year of compensation experience.

Experience with Infor GHR or Lawson HRIS system.

Familiarity with Access/databases; pivot tables, graphics, and reports.

Participation/completion of a professional certification program within the Human Resource field.
