We are looking for a Human Resources Business Partner – someone that is able to build strong business relationships and become a trusted business partner while serving as the first point of contact on all HR matters for our Hebron, Kentucky location with approximately 100 employees.  This position will also collaborate with other HR Business Partners on projects and organizational needs while reporting to the Senior Manager, HR Business Partner.

What will this role do?

BUSINESS PARTNER

  • Delivers HR support by implementing HR solutions to assigned organizational unit
  • Provides advice and guidance to all levels of management (employee to managers) according to established guidelines, independent judgement, and sound administrative practices
  • Assists in the implementation of new HR initiatives, policies and practices, and independently determines when exceptions can be made with respect to existing policies
  • Devises communication strategies to support HR and business units’ initiatives
  • Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to promote continual improvement in efficiency of department and services performed
  • Understands company and HR trends and causes, and provides HR/executive management with recommendations, reports, analytics and dashboards as applicable
  • Facilitates discussions with management to ensure employee relations issues are effectively resolved
  • Assists with employee engagement and develops morale-boosting initiatives
  • Conducts effective, thorough, and objective investigations as needed while consulting with HR management and/or legal counsel as necessary
  • Provides coaching and counseling to managers in matters of corrective action, termination, policies and procedures and ensure fair and equitable treatment throughout organization
  • Prepares and updates performance system and follows-up with management and employees regarding outstanding evaluations – as assigned

COMPENSATION/HRIS

  • Formulates and updates company salary structures, reviews market data, and establishes pay ranges
  • Maintains, updates and creates job descriptions and evaluates FLSA status
  • Provides salary recommendations for promotional increases, transfers, jobs and new hires
  • Develops and maintains career paths and/or leveling for jobs
  • Establishes and maintains job-based competency system
  • Ensures plans are consistent with federal and state laws
  • Administers annual merit planning process by preparing materials, performing merit costing and recommending merit increase budget based on findings
  • Maintains integrity of data systems through periodic reporting and reconciliation

ORGANIZATIONAL AND EMPLOYEE DEVELOPMENT

  • Educate and train supervisors and managers on HR related matters and systems
  • Consults with managers to assess employee developmental planning needs and provides career counseling as needed
  • Develops and delivers training on overall development of leaders – as assigned
  • Develops and/or facilitates HR programs and initiatives for managers and employees in support of business objectives, corporate programs and individual development plans

LEGAL AND COMPLIANCE

  • Identifies gaps in order to propose and implement changes necessary to reduce risks
  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, thereby minimizing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance

What skills and knowledge are we looking for? 

  • Knowledge and understanding of federal and state employment and benefit laws and regulations
  • Knowledge of multiple human resources disciplines
  • Ability to establish, manage and maintain internal positive customer relationships
  • Ability to effectively resolve issues in a timely manner using sound judgment and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to demonstrate high degree of integrity and manage and maintain confidentiality

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Business or related field required
  • Professional in Human Resources (PHR/SPHR), SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP/SHRM-SP), Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) and/or Certified Benefits Professional (CBP) certification highly preferred
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a Human Resources Generalist or similar role required
  • Experience working within Financial Services industry preferred
