What trends are you seeing?

(This came to me from a TA Director anonymously - Steve)

I'm trying to hear from other companies as to what they're seeing and/or experiencing in the job market. I'm not looking at the Bureau of Labor Statistics for this request.

Are you seeing the job market flattening out? Are there sectors hiring more than others?

I see people making significant reductions in force for a variety of reasons. Is it purely the economy? Is AI truly replacing positions, or is that how people are posturing these changes? Is it a mix?

I am also curious about what you're seeing because several of my TA peers now find themselves in the job market. It's happening all around us.

I know there are several questions here, and I have more. I'd just like to hear from my peers as to what your experience is.

Thanks in advance for any observations you can share.

If I was an employer right now, I would not be hiring either.  The current administration is causing so much chaos and uncertainty.  I would be preserving cash and doing more with less.  My prediction is that hiring stays flat the rest of 2026.
