Job Title: Senior Human Resources Executive
Reports to: CEO and President
Summary/Objective
As the Senior Human Resources Executive, you will play a pivotal role in advancing our mission to honor, celebrate, and remember life by delivering exceptional end-of-life services to our families. You will provide visionary leadership and strategic direction for our HR operations, ensuring that our human resources policies, procedures, and practices uphold our core values: Ambassador, Customer Service, Team, Integrity, Respect, and Compassion.
In this role, you will develop and implement talent management strategies that foster an open, engaging, and people-first culture. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, you will be an integral part of the Senior Staff, responsible for shaping organizational development and enhancing company culture. You will work collaboratively with executive leadership to align our HR initiatives with the organization’s long-term goals and support our commitment to excellence and compassionate care.

Strategic HR Management and Compliance:
This function ensures that HR practices comply with all relevant laws and regulations, while monitoring and reporting key performance indicators to assess organizational success and competitiveness.
Employee Experience and Culture Development:
You will focus on creating a positive, inclusive workplace that reflects the company’s values and enhances employee engagement through feedback analysis and targeted development programs.
Performance Management and Talent Development:
This involves overseeing performance management, facilitating employee growth and succession planning, and implementing competitive compensation and development programs aligned with organizational goals.
Organizational Alignment and Strategic Advisory:
This function advises leadership on improving company culture and operational effectiveness, aligns employee performance with organizational goals, and adapts strategies to changing business conditions and benefits needs.
Senior Human Resources Executive
- Identify and report key performance indicators (KPIs) for HR and culture functions. Assess organizational success and market competitiveness based on these metrics.
- Ensure compliance with employment, benefits insurance, safety, and other laws, regulations, and requirements.
- Advise leadership and the executive team to drive continuous improvement of company culture and operational effectiveness.
- Review, analyze, and prepare recommendations in response to employee feedback (surveys) and other internal or external data points impacting culture and employee experience.
- Manage and motivate HR department staff to perform their responsibilities with integrity and quality service.
- Oversee the performance management process, focusing on growth, development, and succession planning for future leadership needs.
- Maintain a high level of integrity and confidentiality and create an atmosphere of excellence.
- Regularly update and maintain the employee handbook to ensure policies meet changing business demands and comply with all employment laws.
- Ensure meticulous record-keeping compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
- Train and advise management on employee relations issues and provide guidance on complex HR matters.
- Recommend and implement competitive compensation, benefits, and incentive plans aligned with industry standards and organizational goals.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of laws, regulations, and best practices in employment law, human resources, and talent management.
- Craft a workplace experience that reflects the mission, vision, and values of Spring Grove, fostering a supportive and inclusive environment.
- Develop programs to create memorable, meaningful, and purposeful connections among employees, and build a sense of teamwork and service-mindedness.
- Maintain and ensure the execution of comprehensive employee training and development programs.
- Consult with management to develop strategies for maximizing employee engagement and satisfaction.
- Strategically develop an organizational framework to align company initiatives and employee performance, ensuring clear communication of company goals, policies, and strategies.
- Foster positive interdepartmental and organizational employee relations and proactively address potential conflicts or issues.
- Understand and adapt to changing business conditions, recommending and implementing strategic recruitment and retention strategies.
- Communicate and drive company goals, policies, and strategies through effective change management practices.
- Manage the company benefits program to deliver competitive and cost-effective offerings, and periodically review and adjust benefits packages to meet evolving employee needs and market conditions.
- Establish metrics for evaluating the effectiveness of HR initiatives and continuously seek opportunities for improvement.
- Manage and participate in Worker’s Comp. and safety programs for each operating company.
Work Environment
This position operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, printers, and fax machines.

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk and/or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit, stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. Required to lift up to 30 pounds. Repetitive motion includes typing and answering phones daily.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time Exempt position. Business days and hours of work are:
Monday thru Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. with occasional weekend work
Travel Local travel is required between campuses for support.
Required Education, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Experience
- A successful Candidate should have 7+ years of comprehensive HR experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field.
- Master’s Degree is a plus.
- SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP is highly preferred.
- Understanding of HR trends and best practices.
- Knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and compliance requirements (e.g., ADA, FLSA, FMLA, HIPAA).
- Familiarity with HR policies and procedures development and implementation.
- Understanding of employee relations principles and practices.
- Knowledge of talent management, succession planning, and employee engagement strategies.
- Proficiency in benefits administration and knowledge of various employee benefits programs.
- Awareness of market analysis techniques and recruitment strategies.
- Familiarity with HRIS (Human Resources Information Systems) and other HR software tools.
- Understanding of leave management processes and requirements.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for effectively collaborating with various stakeholders and conveying HR-related information.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for building relationships with employees, managers, and external partners.
- Analytical skills for conducting investigations, analyzing data, and identifying trends.
- Problem-solving skills for addressing personnel matters and resolving conflicts.
- Organizational skills for managing HR records, documentation, and processes efficiently.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
- Attention to detail for accurately managing HR-related tasks and processes.
