Job Opportunity – Human Resources Director with Dayton Art Institute (DAI) in Dayton, OH.

As the Human Resources Director, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of the HR functions including recruitment, payroll, benefits, compensations, compliance, employee relations, diversity, cultural sensitivity & inclusion initiatives, and professional development/initiatives. You will review policies and practices to maintain compliance and to provide effective and dedicated HR advisory services to all employees. You will oversee the HR Generalist and work under the VP of Finance & Operations and be a member of the Directors’ Senior Leadership Team. 

You will lead the mapping, interdepartmental coordination, and promotion of the DAI’s rebranded internship and fellowship programs as it develops a pipeline for a new diverse generation of museum professionals.

You will serve as a strategic partner co-leading and championing the museum’s mission, vision, and strategic plan in the context of Inclusion, Diversity, Equity/Empathy, and Accessibility (IDEA) to create a sense of belonging and pathways of progressive success for all who work with and engage with the Dayton Art Institute.

Other requirements of this position include:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management or related degree
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in Human Resources.
  • HR certification (PHR/SPHR/SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP) preferred.
  • Experience with DEI initiatives are highly desired with proven experience in promoting an engaging and positive organizational culture.
  • Talent in clear, positive, and effective communication to multiple audiences.
  • Ability to interact and build relationships with people of diverse backgrounds, personalities and characteristics, including but not limited to age, gender-identity, race, nationality, ethnicity, religious beliefs, disability status, sexual orientation, socio-economic status, and physical appearance.
