Developing an Employee Engagement Survey
(This request came to me anonymously from an HR practitioner - Steve)
I am reaching out to see if you have any resources or recommendations on employee engagement surveys. Our company is wanting to improve on employee engagement and measuring our success on a quarterly basis. We do not want to purchase a program. But I would like to purchase a book to help me develop questions and activities. What would you recommend?
Thanks for any recommendations you can give.

I'm an organizational psychologist that specializes in survey design. I'm no longer practicing as a consultant as I'm back in HR :) (so that makes me fee free) but I'd be happy to help navigate some suggestions if this person ends up sharing their name and/or contact info. I don't have a one-book fits all recommendation, as I usually try to tailor surveys to company and culture but I wouldn't mind sharing ideas and helping someone out!

You might try Survey Monkey - they have a lot of different types of surveys and questions. You can go through their surveys and build your own survey. Most of their tools are free, depending upon the size of your population or complexity of results desired. Also, SHRM has a bunch of good articles and toolbox information on their site to help with this. If you do decide that you want some outside, objective assistance, we do a lot of these types of surveys and are very reasonably priced. Darlene Mack, CEO HR Partners. darlene@HRPIInc.com
