Visit Cincy is a sales and marketing organization whose sole focus is on strategic sales and marketing of customized "wow" experiences for the meetings and conventions industry. The Senior Director, HR will support Visit Cincy by ensuring a smooth and efficient alignment of an amazing team of professionals. This individual will serve as a champion of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion while also providing strategic and tactical HR support.
Other responsibilities of the position include:
- Assist with all aspects of diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives including recruiting, talent development, and the full promotion lifecycle among executives and employees.
- Participate in development of HR objectives and systems.
- Coach and consult with managers and employees on critical HR processes as necessary to include staffing initiatives, onboarding, performance management, development planning, rewards planning, and policy interpretation.
- Assist with driving improvement and change initiatives in a dynamic environment.
- Assist with design and implementation of talent development and workplace culture strategies.
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with all functional areas of the organization.
- Provide support to employees in various HR-related topics such as leaves of absence, benefits, and payroll.
- Oversee and coordinate annual performance assessment process.
- Plan staff events and coordinating annual ArtsWave and United Way campaigns.
- Act as ambassador of the Visit Cincy’s brand and guiding principles, internally, and externally.
- Other tasks, as assigned.
Requirements for this position include:
- Demonstrated leadership experience in the area of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. A minimum of 5 years of experience in DEI program implementation and administration. Diversity and Inclusion certification preferred.
- Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 7 years’ experience in Human Resources or related field. SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) or SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) credential preferred.
- Ability to interact and build relationships with people of diverse backgrounds, personalities and characteristics, including but not limited to age, gender-identity, race, nationality, ethnicity, religious beliefs, disability status, sexual orientation, socio-economic status, and physical appearance.
- Exceptional communication skills. Able to inform orally and in writing, with clarity and good effect. Giving full attention to what other people are saying and asking questions as appropriate.
- Strong aptitude in problem solving and critical thinking.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Desire to work as a team with a results driven approach.
This position requires an individual who is strategic, perceptive, and capable of relating to employees at all levels within the organization. The individual must be knowledgeable about and sensitive to organizational strategic priorities, daily operational demands, and employee goodwill. This position is best suited for an individual with strong interpersonal skills, who is detail oriented, a strong problem solver, and an analytical thinker. This position reports to the President and CEO.
