National Compensation Manager - Ethos Veterinary Health - Woburn, Massachusetts

Ethos Veterinary Health is looking for a full-time National Compensation Manager to lead our newly created specialty department.

The Compensation Manager is critical in managing compensation programs including the design, communication, and implementation of the Ethos compensation structure.  This highly analytical role requires someone with the ability and interest to perform a wide variety of duties and the interest in being the sole compensation subject matter expert in the organization.  

Responsibilities of the National Compensation Manager:

  • Designs, develops, executes and communicates compensation programs, tools, and processes
  • Advises on organizational compensation policies, practices and procedures and ensures compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements
  • Plans, develops, implements, and administers a wide variety of employee compensation programs including base pay, merit, incentive, and equity
  • Leads annual market pay analysis process, presents findings, and develops market ranges
  • Performs analyses of competitive pay practices, economic trends, current market position, and cost impact, system enhancements, and improving analytics
  • Partners with Talent Acquisition to develop strategic pay practices and protocols that address recruitment & retention challenges
  • Provides advice, guidance and training to executives, managers, employees, and People & Organization colleagues in the interpretation and administration of the organization's compensation programs, policies and with a focus on service and designing programs that meet the business needs
  • Engages in comprehensive needs assessments, provides recommendations on how the issue may be addressed, and coordinates and facilitates the execution of the initiative
  • Conducts job evaluations, job leveling, and provides salary recommendations ensuring internal equity and market alignment of total compensation

Success Factors for a National Compensation Manager :

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 8+ years of experience in compensation analysis required, Certified Compensation Professional preferred
  • Thorough knowledge of compensation policies and practices, as well as federal and state wage and hour law
  • Advanced skills with Microsoft applications which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access and other web- based applications
  • Excellent project management, analytical, and financial modeling skills
  • Demonstrated ability to design, communicate and implement compensation programs
