Manager, Corporate Training and Leadership Development Role in Cincinnati, Ohio

Centennial is seeking a Manager, Corporate Training and Leadership Development for an employee-owned manufacturer. Our client designs and manufactures custom machined parts and assemblies for heavy industries across the globe. Our retained client is located in Cincinnati with multiple sites. The company offers great benefits, some flexibility in the work environment, and reports to the Vice President of Administration in Cincinnati, OH.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Execute HR strategies that align with the company's goals and objectives
- Partner with the leadership team to understand and execute the organization’s human resource and talent strategy particularly as it relates to recruiting, retention, and succession planning
- Manage the talent acquisition process for other departments, which includes collaborating with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings
- Assist with the training of new staff in the department
- Provide support and guidance to the VP of Administration, management, and other staff when complex and sensitive issues arise
- Handle discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance
- Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law
- Analyze trends in compensation and benefits; research and propose competitive base and incentive pay programs to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent
- Create learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees
- Oversee employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate them when appropriate
- Possess a high level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
- Proficiency with, or the ability to quickly learn, the organization’s HRIS and talent management systems
Education and Experience:
- Manufacturing or a similar background is required
- Executive presence and comfortable interacting with board members
- 3-5 years of human resource experience
- Experience as an HR generalist required
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources preferred
- SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP highly desired
