GCHRA Talent Acquisition Trends Meeting: Redefining "Good Fit" - 3/16/21
Join us on Tuesday, 3/16/21 for our March Talent Acquisition trends meeting (virtually).
In the quest to find the best candidate for the job, Talent Acquisition professionals will commonly look for candidates that are considered a "good fit" with the organization. Dr. Sandra Vogel will challenge long-held beliefs about what qualifies as a "good fit" and discuss how this approach has been limiting the results we seek. She will broaden our perspective by defining a more effective and inclusive way to think about fit so that you bring the best talent to your organization while also supporting a more diverse workforce.
Program Learning Objectives:
- Define traditional use of the term "good fit"
- Define how this approach to hiring has been limiting and in some cases, discriminatory
- Provide examples and result of traditional "good fit" hiring
- Redefine "good fit" to be based on common values instead of a person's "image"
- Recognize unconscious bias and expand our mindset to evaluate based on new definition of fit
- Learn tactical ways to replace "good fit" hiring with values based hiring
