DIRECTOR, COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

A fast growing, dynamic Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) company is seeking an outstanding, forward-thinking Director, Compensation and Benefits to join their senior leadership team. This role, which re-ports to the VP, Human Resources, will be responsible for the design, implementation, and management of the company's Benefit and Compensation strategy. As a key member of the company's leadership team, this person will help to continually develop the results-driven initiatives that define the company's success and help drive new growth.

This position, which is a new role within the company, is now available due to the growth of the company and has been handled up to this point by the VP, Human Resources. The role is located near Strafford, Missouri which is in the southwestern part of Missouri. A superb relocation package is included.

DUTIES

  • Manage the Benefit and Compensation Function including the development of strategic initiatives and provide direction for the design, development, management, and implementation of company-wide Benefit and Compensation programs that are in concert with the company's business goals and objectives.
  • Provide strategic leadership, development and management of Benefit and Compensation Programs in a manner that ensures employee engagement, market competitiveness, and fiscal responsibility.
  • Manage the financial aspects of all Benefit and Compensation Programs to ensure that the company and employees are receiving optimum value for the monies spent.
  • Provide an updated, creative approach to the design and implementation of market competitive Benefit and Compensation Programs that result in high employee retention rates, attracting top talent, and optimizing value.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of existing Benefit and Compensation Programs and suggest areas for improvement.
  • Manage Benefit and Compensation Programs for the corporate office and manufacturing facilities.
  • Manage vendor relationships and contracts for Benefit and Compensation Programs.
  • Ensure that all benefits communication programs are proactive, well communicated and easy to under-stand for all employees.
  • Develop comprehensive communications and training materials to support the roll out of benefits programs that are well understood and valued by managers and employees.
  • Engage with senior management to establish Benefit and Compensation Programs that influence employee retention and attract top talent.
  • Ensure that all Benefit and Compensation Programs are in compliance with all legal and government regulations.
  • Serve as the Company's Benefit and Compensation Subject Matter Expert.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Human Resources Management, Finance, Management or related field.
  • More than ten years of progressively responsible Benefit and Compensation Program design, management, and administration experience.
  • Solid, hands-on working knowledge of Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, Short & Long Term Disability, and Employee Assistance Programs, Flexible Spending Accounts, Base & Incentive pay structure design and FMLA, FLSA, ERISA, Title VII, ADEA, ADA, COBRA, & HIPAA.
  • Excellent knowledge of Benefit and Compensation principles and design and applicable regulations and laws.
  • Solid Benefit and Compensation Program budgeting and analytical background.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills for financial modeling, salary structure design, incentive plan design, market benchmarking and job evaluation.
  • Skilled and knowledgeable in the collection, analysis and determination of market salary and total compensation data.
  • Exceptional ability of establishing and maintaining partnerships with company executives, management, and key stakeholders.
  • Past experience with a Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) company would be beneficial. For example, this would include companies in the Beverage, Food, Clothing, Home Care, Beauty, Personal Care, and Over-the Counter Drug market areas.
  • Experience integrating acquired or merged companies would be beneficial.
  • Collaborative approach – values diverse perspectives and is open to new ideas and approaches.
  • Creative thinker who can provide strategic thought leadership, think analytically, and solve complex issues and challenges.
  • Ability to be 'hands on' and work both tactically and strategically to ensure business needs are met.
  • Solid experience with an HRIS System.
  • Strong interpersonal/collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively with others at all levels of the organization.
  • Solid influencing and negotiating skills.
  • Capable of managing multiple projects from concept to finish.
  •  Ability to communicate with impact utilizing exceptional verbal, written, presentation, and persuasion skills.
