SHRM Re-Cert Credits

Does anyone have any good recommendations on resources that offer SHRM re-certification credits? I'm a member of my local SHRM chapter, so I get some through those events, but I need to re-certify before the end of the year and still have a long way to go to get enough credits.

Thanks for any recommendations. - Allison

SHRM has webinars and archived webinars for credit.  You can also read approved books.

  • Allison: Good evening! I ran into the same issue earlier this year. I had several credits from our local chapter events, but I needed a lot more credits. With this, I registered with HR.com and was able to get all my credits in time. Hope this helps!

  • Volunteer to facilitate a certification group study session or two for your local SHRM chapter. You get 2 for 1 credits and it's a great way to give back!

  • I'm in Minnesota - We have a local TCSHRM that hosts two conferences a year and a law firm that hosts one too about current legal issue (Fredickson and Byron, they have office every where).   I would look at anything HRCI certified, they usually SHRM certify now and if now usually qualify (I have had nothing rejected)  Don't forget on the job experience, if you had to learn something new and implement it.   Also, SHRM has e-learning modules for a fee per credit.

  • Allison, we offer 2 SHRM credits every month at our HR First Thursdays legal seminars, which feature Jeff Shoskin of Frost Brown Todd. Our next seminar is Oct 4th. Also, we periodically offer a day-long class called HR Fundamentals for 7.5 credits, which gives information and resources on all the HR basics from what goes in your personnel files, how long to keep it, handbooks and policies, compliance, job descriptions, hiring and retention, comp, benefits, etc. We will be holding this class again on Oct 30th in the Rookwood area. Email me if you want more information on these programs, or to register for notices about our seminars. darlene@HRPIInc.com Thanks!!
