Description: This 30-hour course is spread out over 8 weeks and includes book, course materials, access to Google Classroom and practice tests. (New for fall, all 8 knowledge sessions are prerecorded, with a new session being released each week starting September 11. Additionally, there will be 4 study sessions from 6-7:30PM EST every other Thursday starting on September 15.)
Course is designed around the SHRM Body of Applied Skills and Knowledge (BASK) and is ideal for those who have less than 6 years’ experience in the HR field and meets the experience qualifications to take either the SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP exam. Course is also a good HR overview for those who want to learn more about the HR function.
Why the Update?
SHRM updated the content of the exam in December of 2021 and this course structure reflects that update. Additionally, after several cycles of providing the "HR Content Sessions Live via Zoom" I have discovered that it is difficult to have active engagement. Thus, the HR Content will be delivered each week on Sunday morning with 6 20–30-minute presentations along with PPTs and quiz questions. I have also selected a book that will go along with our HR content presentations that should further reinforce the material presented. I have also added 4 90-minute study sessions where we will go over how to study for your exam, practice questions, day of test prep and how to keep your certification.
I have been teaching HR Certification Prep Courses for about 30 years now and this format since 2018. Since 2018 I have worked with close to 250 HR professionals from around the country and have a 89%+ pass rate for those who take their HR Certification Exam. This new structure will allow you the flexibility to go over the material at your own pace and will allow more time for study sessions (I have added 6 hours on to the course.)
