Employee Handbooks: Is "Less" More?

October 6, 2016;    11:15 - 1:00    Rookwood Tower, Edwards Road
HR Partners' First Thursdays HR Legal Seminar series - in our 11th year!

Speakers/Hosts:
Darlene Mack, MA, SHRM-SCP, SPHR; CEO, HR Partners Int'l Inc
Jeff Shoskin, Partner, Frost Brown Todd; Labor and Employment Law Attorney

 SHRM PDCs:  1.5
 HRCI Credit:  1.5 General

This seminar is a continuation of the discussion begun in September, but all policies will be discussed – so if you missed September, this seminar will provide all new information as well as revisiting questions from the previous sections.  Relevant for all!

Most, if not all, companies have a document called an "Employee Handbook." Some edited in 2013, some last edited in 1976!  Some may not even know who authored your handbook - you inherited it. We have seen them run from 5 pages to 150 pages. Some good. Many bad.

Jeff Shoskin, a Partner with Frost Brown Todd, will de-mystify the employee handbook conundrum. He will share those topics that should be included and will reveal topics and language to avoid. Jeff will also discuss the NLRB's continued assault on non-union employer handbook language.

$20 for seminar; $35 includes choice of lunch - options provided at registration.
