SARs Incentive Programs For DIR, VP, and Execs

Seeking some feedback, ideas, and some best practices.

I am looking into some SARs Incentive programs. SARs are Stock appreciation rights (SAR). It is a method for companies to give their management or employees a bonus if the company performs well financially. Such a method is called a 'plan'. SARs resemble employee stock options in that the holder/employee benefits from an increase in stock price.

What are companies doing and at what levels... VP, DIR, Sr. MGR?? What levels of SARs are there with the different levels?

All ideas and best practices are welcome.

We appreciate you. Thanks for the support.

  • Hi Matthew- our company is 100% employee-owned through our Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP). We use SARs as an incentive for a small group of our executives. Because we are an ESOP, it helps align the interests of all our employee owners. If you'd like to speak in more detail, please feel free to contact me at jennifer.king@xtek.com
