Amy Whitman is the Senior Director of Talent Acquisition with First Group America headquartered in downtown Cincinnati. She leads the overall talent strategy in North America for this $7B transportation organization. FirstGroup owns First Student yellow school bus division, the First Transit division which includes municipal metro buses, airport shuttles, campus shuttles, First Vehicle Services and para-transit services for the disabled; as well as Greyhound. The FirstGroup Talent Acquisition team has 3 Senior Managers, 5 Talent Acquisition Managers, and 47 Talent Acquisition team members in North America. At First, we focus on high volume recruiting in the US and Canada for Driver positions up to senior level executives. Amy began working with FirstGroup in January of 2018, and has previous experience in agency recruiting with Management Recruiters International, corporate recruiting experience with two top Cincinnati based organizations Cintas and Fifth Third Bank as well as consulting positions throughout her recruiting career. Amy graduated from Ball State University with a Bachelor of Science in marketing.

Abby Chermely, Associate

Abby guides clients through a range of employment and labor issues that arise in the workplace. She has effectively counseled employers on matters involving Title VII, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act, and the National Labor Relations Act. She has experience defending employers against charges filed with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and has handled matters in state and federal courts throughout the country. In addition to defending employers in litigation and administrative proceedings, Abby helps clients avoid litigation by counseling them on all aspects of the employment relationship. Prior to joining the firm, she clerked for Judge Michael R. Barrett in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio and Judge Beth A. Myers in the Hamilton County Court of Common Pleas. During her clerkships, she gained experience in a variety of trial matters. During law school, she served as a fellow with the Ohio Innocence Project, where she analyzed possible cases of wrongful conviction.
