2019 Legal Year in Review – What’s Next?

Please join us on Thursday, February 6th as BWSHRM welcomes esteemed colleagues Robert Shank and Morgan Davenport presenting a 2019 Legal Year in Review, and its implications for employers in 2020.

About the Speakers:

Robert D. Shank is Of Counsel in the Cincinnati, Ohio, office of Jackson Lewis P.C.
He has 20 years of experience litigating employment and other matters in state and federal court. Mr. Shank advises and represents employers in a broad range of employment law matters, including those involving non-compete agreements and trade secrets, discrimination and harassment, wage and hour, wrongful termination, and retaliation claims. He also advises and trains managers and supervisors on preventive litigation practices, focusing on how to comply with applicable laws and regulations, avoid workplace disputes, resolve employee relations problems, and satisfy legitimate employee expectations. His experience includes handling unfair labor practice charges, arbitration, and other labor proceedings. During law school, Mr. Shank was a member of the Vanderbilt Moot Court Board and the Vanderbilt Journal of Transnational Law. He is a Cincinnati native and is an active member of several community organizations.

Morgan A. Davenport is an Associate in the Cincinnati, Ohio office of Jackson Lewis, P.C.
She has several years of experience representing employers in discrimination and harassment claims, non-compete and trade secret claims, retaliation claims, and unemployment hearings. She also advises clients on preventative litigation practices, including compliance with applicable state and federal laws and regulations, and has experience conducting internal investigations. During law school, Ms. Davenport was a published member of the Indiana Journal of Law and Social Equality and placed second in the Sherman Minton Moot Court Competition. She practices in both Kentucky, where she grew up, and Ohio.

Directions:

Take I-75 to the Tylersville Rd. exit and turn west. Go to the entrance of Wetherington Homes, which is just past Shell & Meijer, turn right and follow to the stop at corner of Country Club Lane. Turn right at stop sign and follow road to left. It takes you into Country Club parking lot.

Cost is $20 for all attendees

7:30 AM – Registration and Networking
7:45 AM – Breakfast
8:00-9:00 AM – Presentation

This program is pending 1 SHRM Professional Development Credit and pending approval for 1 HR re-certification credit through HRCI.
