Mandated use of PTO balance on FMLA

Looking to get an idea that shows how many employers allow employees to NOT have to use PTO during FMLA leave, versus though REQUIRED to take PTO while on FMLA.  Please share your company's stance on this topic and THANK YOU!!

    health care company - we require use of PTO.  seems like people are more mindful of using intermittent leave if they must use PTO
