Butler/Warren SHRM Chapter Meeting - 4/6/17

(This came from Sherrie Acheson of Butler/Warren SHRM)

Meeting Workforce Needs

An employee can have all of the technical skills in the world, but if they don’t have the soft skills necessary to work with others, communicate their ideas, make good decisions or solve problems creatively, odds are they will not be successful in the workplace. Join Butler/Warren SHRM as Carol Lucio the Executive Director with Junior Achievement speaks on workforce readiness trends, research, and statistics. She will share how JA is a solution provider for workforce readiness challenges and how local SHRM chapters and JA Areas can partner on local workforce readiness initiatives.

About the Speaker:

Carol (Lubbers) Lucio was born and raised in Hamilton, a graduate of Badin High School and Miami University and a Junior Achievement alumnus and volunteer, in addition to being its current Executive Director. She has been affiliated with JA for more than 30 years, as a student and then volunteer, and has served in her current position for 8.5 years. During her tenure JA has increased the number of students served in the Greater Butler and Warren County regions by more than 259%. Last year that was over 7,000 students impacted by the JA programs in the region. Carol is married to Alejandro Lucio who is from Quito, Ecuador (South America). Carol has been fortunate enough to travel to Ecuador seven times since they married. They live in Mt. Airy.
