Blending Support: Helping Employee Caregivers Thrive at Work and Stay Engaged

(This post came to me from Chef Maria Kemp, who presented at SHRM North Carolina - Steve)

Blending Support: Starting the Conversation is a two-page resource following my SHRM NC presentation - Blending Support: Helping Employee Caregivers Thrive at Work and Stay Engaged.

It empowers HR and leaders to recognize hidden caregiving responsibilities and support employees while maintaining performance and accountability.

[Blending Support: Starting the Conversation]

I thought you'd enjoy having a resource to refer to in your roles. Steve encouraged me to share it. If you have any questions or would like any more information, feel free to contact me.

Thanks - Chef Maria

Thank you for sharing this,   !

This topic is very personal and dear to me. I spent 8½ years caring for my parents while running a business. I affectionately referred to them as Little Mama and Papa Kemp. Some days I showed up with a smile while silently carrying more than anyone could see.

I created this resource because the statistics tell us I’m far from the only one. So many people have lived a caregiving story or are in the middle of one right now. They’re carrying someone else’s life alongside their own while juggling the responsibilities of a full-time job.

After speaking at the SHRM North Carolina State Conference, I wanted attendees to have something they could put in another leader’s hands and say, “This is worth a conversation.”

You may recognize someone else or yourself in these pages.

Feel free to share it with someone who could use it. If you’re wondering what this conversation could look like with your own team, I’d love to hear from you.

You’ll find my contact information and scheduling link in the resource, or email me at ChefMariaSpeaks@beyonddecadence.com .
