Every month GETDOT Cincinnati gets together to provide a place for people to meet with a cause in mind – Cincinnati’s less fortunate kids. Every event has a specific purpose in mind and the Woven Oak is the charity we are supporting this month. Come out and join us at 5:30 pm at The Crowne Plaza in Blue Ash for a drink and some good company for a great cause!

Charity of the Month: Woven Oak

Woven Oak Initiatives was founded in February of 2011 to catalyze the common good in Norwood. Founders Joshua Stoxen and Joshua Hanauer envisioned an organization that could provide a home for small initiatives and serve as a community connector to benefit the work of other local organizations and coalitions. Our first program was a rugby team for high school boys — using the sport as a way to connect at-risk teens with mentors and scholarship opportunities. Today, our initiatives include Norwood Grows (integrative educational experiences in the natural world for children 3 to 16 years old), Friday Fun Life (a safe and structured after-school alternative for 5 to 10 year olds with physical activity, creative play, and the sharing of a meal together), and the Norwood Makers Collective (connecting neighbors through arts and crafts). Our programs are focused in West Norwood, but are open to all.

The admission to attend is a donation to the children’s charity of the night. In return, you are given door prize ticket(s) for a chance to win one of the donated door prizes. Every penny raised will go towards Woven Oak Initiatives

First-time guests receive an extra raffle ticket when they purchase raffle tickets, bring a door prize and an additional raffle ticket for every first-time guest you bring.
