LinkedIn activity - Any advantage for job seekers?
I would like to understand from Talent Acquisition, Recruiters and anyone else in the know, if (and how much) LinkedIn activity gets weighed in the job search process. It is my understanding a relatively small % of people are active on LinkedIn. Is being active on LinkedIn an advantage for job search candidates to distinguish themselves before an interview? In a stack of ten relatively equal resumes, if one person is active on LinkedIn, will they have a better chance of getting a call? I appreciate any feedback.

From my perspective, I would agree with Nicole that it would depend on the position. For most of my professional openings (engineering, IT, manufacturing leadership...) I would not consider their activity on LinkedIn in the application process. I could imagine that positions in Sales or Marketing could be an exception.
