Session Description:
You may have heard the quote, “The company that LEARNS the fastest will be the one that not only survives, but thrives.” In the current business environment talent development is becoming an even more critical business imperative. Although organizational leaders know that employee learning and development is important many companies still struggle to support, fund and implement a learning strategy to support organizational outcomes. In this discussion we will hear how to build the strategic case for learning with any level of resources through the journey of a local organization, CareSource.
Session Bio:
Jackie Smith is a Human Resources, Training and Organizational Development professional with over 20 years of experience. She has worked in a variety of organizations and industries in both the for-profit and not-for-profit sectors.
Jackie is Vice President of CareSource University at CareSource, a Medicaid managed care organization. She oversees CareSource University as well as the company’s performance management, succession and goal setting processes. In 2015 CSU delivered over 200,000 learning hours, coached approximately 200 leaders, and on-boarded 1000 new hires. CareSource University has been nationally recognized for the past 7 years as one of Training Magazine’s Top 125 training organizations, with rankings in the top 19 for the past six years. Prior to CareSource, Jackie was president of Reflections on Learning, a performance-consulting firm and worked as a Senior Organizational Development Consultant a Regional Human Resources Manager, Training Specialist and Manager in the financial services, retail and transportation industries.
Her educational background includes a B.S. Education from Miami University, Ohio and Luxembourg and an M.S. Organizational Development and Leadership from St. Joseph’s University in Philadelphia. In addition, she has served as an adjunct faculty member at Antioch McGregor University and is a certified facilitator in a variety of training and development programs, organizational assessments and Myers-Briggs profiling. She also serves as a Team Leader facilitating business strategy sessions in developing countries including Ecuador, Jordan, Guinea and Senegal.
Jackie has 2 grown children and lives with her husband, in Dayton, Ohio.
