HR Specialist for Belterra Gaming in Cincinnati, Ohio

POSITION SUMMARY

The Human Resources Specialist is responsible for assisting team members and the Human Resources team with various processes and support, including recruiting, onboarding, engagement, and retention.  Reporting to the HR Business Partner, the Specialist is the front-line support for team member questions and is responsible for the efficient handling of HR data and information. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Support excellence in employee experience, offering a high level of customer service, guidance and assistance to applicants, team members and leadership as needed.
  • Provide information and interpretation of policies and procedures to management and team members.
  • Source and recruit for key exempt positions; assist with internal and external job fairs.
  • Conduct property-specific team member orientation and onboarding to ensure a positive new hire experience.
  • Input all new hires, transfers, promotions, salary changes, reviews, terminations, and PAF’s into our Infinium HRIS platform.
  • Administer systems-related transactions as needed in the applicant tracking system, HR information system (HRIS), and learning management system.
  • Collect, prepare, and analyze reports regarding a variety of employment-related topics, including new hires, transfers, terminations, etc.; maintain team member records.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in written and oral communication with candidates and team members at all levels of the organization.
  • Maintain a strict level of confidentially in all matters of sensitive nature regarding team members or disciplinary actions, appraisals, salary information, and all team member records.
  • Special projects as required; fulfill other duties as directed by Human Resources. 

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field - preferred
  • 1-3 years of work experience in a related field/capacity preferred. 

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: (Licenses, Certifications, Testing, etc.):

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain all licenses/certifications per Federal, State, and Gaming regulations.
  • Ability to maintain all Regulatory licenses within the assigned state of employment
  • Must successfully pass background check
  • Must successfully pass an alcohol and drug screening

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY:

  • Operational knowledge and experience in consumer-driven hospitality/food & beverage, retail, gaming or entertainment business is highly preferred.
  • Great customer service skills.
  • Ability to review, comprehend, and respond to resumes, applications, etc. to select applicants for employment based on best qualifications.  
  • Must have advanced computer skills.
  • Must be a great team player.
  • Ability to work independently on a wide variety of special projects, and experience completing projects.   
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of Team Members, both verbally and in writing.
  • Knowledge of relevant Federal, state and local laws, rules, regulations, codes and/or statutes.
  • Must have excellent planning and organizational skills.
  • General office experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of HRIS systems and applicant tracking systems a plus.
  • Ability to complete detailed paperwork.
  • Ability to research, analyze, comprehend, and act upon information as appropriate. 
  • Ability to perform effectively in a faced pace environment.
  • Must be flexible to work varying shifts and time schedules as needed.   
  • Ability to prepare clear and concise administrative reports.
