Part-time HR Generalist, Quiotxe Hospitality, Sumter, South Carolina

JOB SUMMARY

Quixote Hospitality is looking for a part-time Human Resources Generalist to partner closely with Sr. Leadership advising on HR strategies including but not limited to strategic workforce planning, succession planning, learning and development, performance management processes, and policy administration. The role will be responsible for building trusting relationships and influencing decisions as needed. This position has the ability to be remote but would require travel to Sumter, SC as needed. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ability to manage the full recruiting cycle of a candidate, from job opening, posting, screening, interviewing, job offer to onboarding.
  • Establish and maintain communication and relationships with site department leaders to ensure efficient and effective recruiting.
  • Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications such as E-verify.
  • Facilitates new hire orientation and employee recognition programs
  • Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications
  • Develop and implement learning and development programs and succession planning for the company
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff
  • Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law
  • Performs other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must have outstanding written and oral communication skills enabling effective communication at all levels of the business.
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS and talent management systems
  • Proven track record of advising senior management to grow a high-performing workforce in multiple organizations.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required
  • At least three years of human resource management experience preferred
  • SHRM-CP a plus
