Ohio local taxes

With the 12/31/21 end date for grandfathering Ohio local taxes to the 'home office', we will be adding 70 'locations' to our HR system for everyone's home address since we're still remote from the pandemic. Anyone else dealing with Ohio local tax switches? How are you dealing with it?

Sorry you haven't received much response to your question. We are all in denial is probably why!

Yes, we are dealing with this with all of our clients. Pre-covid, where someone worked wasn't as big of an issue regarding taxes but it is now.  Hopefully by now, you've been able to tackle this beast.

We found you had to call each state, county, municipality, etc., to see how they handled getting registered.  For some, this meant sitting on hold for quite some time. Once established, setting up unemployment and workers compensation in that location. And, when we thought that was enough, our accounting friends shared you may need to consider sales tax too.

We've tackled each employees' situation differently to try and do the best we can to comply. I'm happy to share any tips we may have if it would help. Feel free to reach out to me at Robin@strategicHRinc.com.
