Parental Leave

We started a Parental Leave program and it requires 12 months employment/1250 hours and the usage of FMLA. We give 20 days off. This is in addition to PTO, STD, ect. We are considering removing the 12 month/1250 hours/FMLA requirement. I like the idea of a "buy in" and removing it is opening us up to a little more potential abuse of the program, but not sure if there are any other concerns to make it effective the first day of employment. Any determent I missing to removing the requirement? Thanks

  • Is there any requirement that they use any of their PTO?  Not saying there should be - just curious.  Like the idea of making it easier access, particularly since you've recognized that you might get "some" abuse.  Congrats!
