Position Details:
This recruitment may be used to fill vacancies for Human Resource Assistants within multiple units of WSU Human Resource Services, including, but not limited to:
- Disability Services: Performs activities related to medical leave programs, reasonable accommodation, workers compensation and/or long term disability claims for all employees within WSU.
- Employment Services: Performs activities related to recruitment efforts, classification, compensation, and employee relations for all employees within WSU
- HRS Records and Administration: Performs activities related to employee records processing, maintenance and compliance for all employees within WSU
- Labor Relations: Performs activities related to labor compliance, contract administration, negotiations, and union/management relations for all covered employees within WSU.
Summary of Duties:
Under general supervision, perform a variety of duties in support of Human Resource Services. Apply established human resource guidelines, rules, policies, and procedures to classified, exempt, and/or academic staff. Review, develop and maintain accurate records and correspondence. Assist clients, maintain electronic and paper files, produce reports, gather and organize documentation, and coordinate schedules. Maintain and ensure a confidential environment at all times.
Required Qualifications:

Three years of office experience including at least six months of experience in a human resource or related setting OR equivalent education/experience.

Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills.
Experience providing customer service both in-person and/or over the phone.

Working knowledge and experience with Microsoft office programs.

Excellent attention to detail skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
-
Experience in the human resource functions of training & development, benefits, recruitment, classification, compensation, employee/labor relations.

Experience providing clerical – administrative support to multiple individuals.
-
Experience presenting group orientations and/or trainings.
