HOURS: Full-time (37.5 hour), may include evening and weekend hours
SALARY: Grade 14, $52,357.50/year, Exempt

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
ASCPL is hiring a Human Resources Generalist to work on-site to support our Mission Statement to provide resources for learning and leisure, information services, meeting spaces, and programs for all ages that support, improve, and enrich individual, family, and community life. This role supports the Library and its employees by performing HR duties, including:
- Working closely with managers and employees to improve supervisory/employee work relationships and to improve coworker relationships.
- Resolving complex employee relations issues, and conducting effective, thorough, and objective investigations.
- Providing coaching and writing and administering counseling, disciplinary action, and performance improvement plans.
- Participating in the administration of and compliance with local, state, and federal employment laws.
- Coordinating the Family Medical Leave and Personal Leave programs.
- Coordinating the Library’s workers’ compensation program.
- Coordinating the Performance Evaluation process.
- Providing guidance and interpretation of Library policies as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Required: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Personnel Administration, Public Administration, or a related field. Knowledge of the principles and practices of Human Resources administration. Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws pertaining to Human Resources management. Knowledge of employee relations management principles and practices. Skill in mediation and conflict resolution. Skill in employee coaching, counseling, and performance management. Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of employees, other professionals, and community groups and organizations. Understanding of the principles of intellectual freedom. Ability to use a computer and job-related software or systems applicable to the essential functions of the job. Ability to pass criminal background and education verification checks.
Preferred: Master’s degree. HRCI (S/PHR) or SHRM certification (-CP or -SCP). 5 or more years of relevant experience.
