HR Generalist for Worldwide Flight Services - Hebron, Kentucky

Worldwide Flight Services is searching for a Human Resources Manager.  This position will be located at CVG Airport and report directly to the Central Region HR Director.

With more than 198 stations around the world, Worldwide Flight Services (WFS) is a leader in ground handling services and the world’s largest cargo handling company. The WFS group covers 22 countries in North America, Latin America, Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and Africa. WFS has over 22,800 employees and assists more than 270 airlines. The group has 40 years experience in aviation-related handling services including cargo handling, baggage handling, ramp services, passenger services, technical solutions, and premium VIP services. WFS handle’s over 4 million tons of air cargo a year.

The Human Resources Manager, with direction and support from the Regional Human Resources Director, will provide innovative HR support to their assigned stations by partnering with field operations leaders and front-line employees to ensure the station’s culture and performance align with company objectives. 

Responsibilities include:

  • Employee and labor relations; leading and supporting complex investigations.
  • Build relationships with the regional operations leadership team to understand the business needs and talent requirements to meet the organization’s goals.
  • Provides advice and counsel to station leadership on policy and/or collective bargaining agreement interpretation (FLSA, FMLA, ADA, reasonable accommodations, etc.).
  • Leads the investigative process related to employee matters.  This includes conducting fact-finding investigations related to any EEO type charges including developing positions statements and providing guidance to operational leaders with developing and reviewing charges in discipline/discharge matters.
  • Partner with the Talent Acquisition team to provide field support in the recruitment initiatives of the region, collaborate with departmental managers to forecast staffing needs, and understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  • Provide field support for learning & development programs and initiatives in partnership with Talent Development.
  • Provide field support for the performance management process through the tools and direction provided by Talent Development, including goal settings, constructive feedback, and timely performance evaluations.
  • Collaborate with HR functions to support change management strategies related to the implementation of major initiatives.
  • Maintain compliance and knowledge of labor and employment laws, and regulations including trends, best practices, and regulatory changes.

Required Skills:

  • Ability to connect and engage with teams at all levels; superior written and oral communication skills.
  • Familiarity with FMLA, EEO laws, ADA, and other employment-related state and federal laws and regulations.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to identify trends and measure results using data, insight, critical thinking, and strategic problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate them when appropriate.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Experience working in a multicultural and diverse environment.
  • Ability to travel overnight on short notice.

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field.
  • 7+ years’ HR Generalist or HR Business Partner experience.
  • Familiarity with collective bargaining agreements and policymaking.
  • Certified SHRM-CP, PHR or SHRM-SCHP, SPHR
