Learning Accreditation question

Hi all - first time on this forum and not US based but always open to learning about cultural and continent differences in the field of HR.

Wondered if any of the HR professionals on this platform could tell me what learning accreditation bodies exist in the US.

For context, here in the UK we have a governing body called the CPD, Continuing Professional Development, and when you write/ design any training material you can ( if you want to) get it validated and signed off by them which makes your learning more 'credible' for want of a better word as it has undergone rigorous assessment.

This means more companies are more likely to buy your training and/ or engage with your company

Really interested to hear if such accreditation exists in the US and is it state specific?

Thanks - Claire

    Good day Ms. Ingle

In the U.S. I don't believe there is anything like this as a whole. What it sounds like you are referring and what might be similar in the US is more tied to Industry Associations, i.e. ATD, SHRM, or more specialized groups that are tied to Gov't agencies. However, they all are more competitors and individuals or organizations will choose to get certified. Some hold more weight in certain industries.

Most of what is seen as accredited and verified bodies are organizations that provide a service and also aim to profit from that service like Vitalsmart (Crucial Conversations), DDI, DISC, etc etc. You can always create your own and market it, however, I don't believe there is any one body that certifies like what you have in the UK!

    Hope this makes sense
