Diversity and Inclusion is not an HR program – it is a business strategy.  Diversity and Inclusion incorporates a company’s mission, strategies, and practices to support a diverse workplace and leverage the effects of diversity to achieve a competitive business advantage.

Companies that embrace diversity and inclusion in all aspects of their business statistically outperform their peers.

A survey by Forbes Insights of more than 300 senior executives – 32% who were in HR or talent management – found their companies’ diversity and inclusion priorities include:

·  65% said recruitment of diverse employees

·  44% said retention of diverse talent

·  35% said ensuring diversity in the workplace

·  29% said developing a robust pipeline of diverse talent

·  28% said managing cross-generational issues

Join us on June 4th for a 3-hour highly interactive workshop that will increase your knowledge and understanding of unconscious bias and develop strategies to mitigate its impact in your workplace.  Leaders who want to expand their knowledge of Diversity and Inclusion and deepen their understanding of unconscious bias will take away concrete actions that help create more inclusive work environments.

The first step is acknowledging your own biases.  Participants will pre-take the Harvard Implicit Association Test (IAT) in order to gain insight into their own biases. This instrument and many additional hands-on, interactive exercises will provide participants with personal insights and practical strategies for taking their organizations to the next level.

Robin Shabazz, Principal with the Eastledge Group, will lead this 3-hour workshop. Objectives for participants in this interactive workshop include:

·  Understanding why bias matters

·  Recognizing sources of unconscious bias

·  Identifying bias in our organizations and institutions

·  Practicing culturally intelligent strategies to disrupt bias.

Robin Shabazz is a business and organization consultant with expertise in strategic planning, project and change management and organization development. Robin is also a licensed attorney and a Civil Mediator in the State of Ohio, who has over 25 years’ experience in Human Resource Management with a specialty in employee relations.
