January GCHRA HR Roundtable - 1/8/19

HR Roundtable Facilitator notes before the announcement:

I know we met just last week, but I wanted to get the announcement out for January early before the holiday season hits us. So, here are a few items before we enter 2019 !!

  • Please make sure that your RSVP each month when you get these emails. It helps us plan space at Scarlet Oaks. We continue to grow and that is wonderful !!
  • If the Roundtable isn’t for you, just drop me a note and I’ll take you off the list. I don’t want to flood your email inbox, BUT I do want you connected and involved if you want to be.
  • If you are a person in transition, two quick asks (1) If you’d like to email me your resume, I’d be glad to network for you even more and (2) When you land, let me know. I’m hopeful this forum gets you in a place where you land your next great gig.
  • I know I mention Linked In every month, but let’s make sure we’re connected. Remember – We’re better together as a community.
  • If you enjoy the Roundtable forum, invite others and get them connected as well !!

Now for January . . .

People are in the habit of making resolutions when a New Year rolls around. So, our topic for the January HR Roundtable is – “What Resolutions Should HR Make for 2019 ??”

We’ll be meeting on Tuesday, 1/8/18 from 8:00am to 9:00am at Scarlet Oaks (directions are below).

(NOTE: This is the 2nd Tuesday of the month because I didn’t think many would show up on New Year’s Day.)

I hope one of your 2019 resolutions is that you’ll make as many HR Roundtables as you can throughout the year. Let’s start this one off right by RSVP’ing by sending me an email at: sbrowne@larosas.com to let me know if you can make it. I truly hope you can !!

Thanks – Steve

Instructions for the HR Roundtable at Scarlet Oaks:

  • The HR Roundtable is open to one and all !!  The meeting has an HR/Business focus each month and we get together to discuss that topic as well as network.  So, if you’re in HR, are a small business owner, are a resource partner who works with HR folks, a professional in transition, etc. – you are welcome to attend the Roundtable !!
  • If you’re someone in transition, feel free to bring five (5) copies of the resume to the Roundtable to display. Make sure they’re stapled and not loose. You only need to bring five. It will be enough to help you network.
  • Place your resumes in the Job Role category that best fits your background. Please don’t spread them over several categories. People will find you and help you look. You can trust me on that.
  • The “dress” for the Roundtable is business casual. We’re not very formal and you’ll be fine however you dress. It’s more important to have you attend the forum !!
  • You can bring business cards, but don’t immediately pass them out when you get to the Roundtable. Get to know people first and see if they’d like a card. It doesn’t need to be your introduction.
  • Please come in and sign in for the Roundtable.  Note that if you go to any other Great Oaks door, you’ll be asked to have a picture ID and you will receive a Visitors badge as part of their security system.
  • Chances are I’ll be outside to greet you and welcome you to the Roundtable so you can find the right door to come and join the forum !!
