GCHRA Connect & Learn Chapter Meeting - 9/8/16

(This came from GCHRA Program Chair - Tom Johnson)

GCHRA Presents:
Leading as a Human Resource Professional
September 8, 2016

Most HR professionals understand the challenge of operating more strategically and having an equal share of influence in the organizational decision making process. But crafting a brilliant strategy is only a start, because the world is not likely to beat a path to your doorstep. In this session, we’ll go beyond the “what” to address what is, arguably, more important – the “how”: establishing credibility as a business professional, developing your ability to influence, developing a dense web of trusting relationships inside and outside your organization, and communicating more effectively as a leader. You’ll have an opportunity in the session to actively begin developing action plans for improving your business influence, expanding your network, and communicating – and to practice all three with new network acquaintances!

Learning Objectives:

• Participants will be able to develop greater credibility within their organizations as business leaders
• Participants will be able to develop influence and leadership skills by understanding and applying concepts such as courageous followership & leadership, the Leadership FingerprintTM, position power and leadership fluidity
• Participants will be able to utilize active, reflective listening skills to improve the quality of communication, deepen relationships and make better decisions
