Your kids are back in school (thankfully!), your summer was eventful (hopefully!) and now you are getting ready to break out the hoodies and light jackets. Let us help you ease into the fall and back into another evening of networking and donations.
Charity of the Month: BOLD AND BRAVE KID'S FOUNDATION
The mission of Bold and Brave Kid's Foundation is to provide children and their families a place to call home when cancer has forced them to be brave.We know first-hand what it means to have a child diagnosed with cancer- the emotional strain, the financial burdens, the fear, the hope, the willingness to do anything, go anywhere for your child's well-being. This knowledge and experience is what lies at the heart of our organization and our commitment to helping the entire family heal together.
Our goal is to afford children access to the best cancer treatment possible by removing the financial and emotional stress of relocating for 6-8 weeks while the child is undergoing treatment at the new Proton Therapy Center on Cincinnati Children’s Liberty Campus. Bold and Brave Kid’s Foundation currently offers a fully-furnished two bedroom apartment located minutes from the hospital. The convenient location allows families to return home, either between appointments or once treatment for the day is complete. The size of our apartment allows families to stay intact and continue their normal routines of eating dinner together or just snuggling up on the couch for movie night. Our housing is not just a place to lie their head at night; it is a safe, private residence that helps restore a sense of normalcy and relieve some of the anxieties associated with cancer treatment.
