Payroll/HRIS Vendors
I'm looking for recommendations on an integrated payroll and HR system. We are a small to mid-size manufacturing company with around 200 employees - currently with Paycor, looking to make a switch due to poor service/support. Any systems switch is such a daunting task, you want to make sure you get it right (not to mention during the RFP process they all seem wonderful) any feedback would be helpful!

We recently conducted the same search and landed on Workday. They are expensive but worth it. My company has around 1800 employees. One of the other vendors we liked a lot was Paycomm. They specialize in small to mid-size companies and have a very good tool. We went with Workday because we are looking to implement the full talent management suite over time and Workday had all of the modules we need. Good luck!

Lisa, converting payroll systems is daunting, we've done 3 in the past 8 years. We were with ADP forever on their old system (before Workforce Now) and service was an issue, we did an RFP and switched to Paycom - who couldn't handle our 37.5 work week, after a year of manually updating all our hourly staff from 80 hours a pay period to 75 we did another RFP and switched to Paylocity. We also use Paylocity's Time & Attendance module and Web Benefits. We've had a few issues early on, but all has smoothed out and it is working really well now. If I could have afforded Ultimate, I would have liked them, but Paylocity was more in our wheel house. We have approximately 340 employees. One location.

I would love to talk with you as we are looking also, but thought Paycor was the one. Would you be interested in sharing your experience with me? My email is khambidge@dccevv.com. thank you

Unless you are doing this in house now or a very large employer, I would stay away from Ultipro/Ultimate Software. This is a software program for someone who already does in house payroll or HRIS. They do not advise, guide, follow up, etc... on items like taxes, ACA, etc. Implementing their system takes a lot of training and foresight to ensure that the system is properly set up. I am speaking from experience in a company that is too small for Ultipro, it was not set up correctly, and the decision was made primarily on cost.

Good morning Lisa, if you're looking for a company that puts customer service first, I'd highly recommend PayOptions. They have a solid customer base of customers that have left Paycor and other large providers that are looking for one on one service with a great product. Contact Janelle Paynter at 513-227-5432

Hi Lisa Lyons -
We switched from Paycor last year, also due to poor service and support. We now use Paycom and are very happy with it. We use it for timekeeping, payroll, human resources, documents/tasks, benefits, ACA, and performance/comp. There are other modules to add on, but we don't have all of them.Good luck with your search!
