Vacation for New Hires

Hello.  We have a recruiting policy that requires new hires have at least 10 years work experience in order to be granted 3 weeks vacation at time of hire.

I'm getting a lot of push back lately from candidates and have proposed that we modify the requirement to 5 years of experience.  I'm interested to see how others handle VAC slotting for new hires.  In addition to VAC, new hires receive 5 personal days and offer the option to purchase additional VAC.   Industry is automotive-non-manufacturing.

Thank you ! - Melissa

I find in HR the flexible work schedule is important to the "newer" generations for hiring, including PTO time as they want to "smell the flowers" while they are young and not wait until they are retired.  But that being said they are also more willing to work on vacation then previous generations.
